Arthritis: A prevalent and debilitating condition for a lot of veterans...

More and more U.S. veterans (approximately one-third according to a recent study) suffer from arthritis. While arthritis can develop a number a ways, for veterans, a common denominator exists - orthopedic injuries they sustained while in the military. For example, soldiers who fought in the Gulf War often wore Kevlar helmets and heavy battle gear while riding in trucks over desert terrain. It was common for these soldiers to report severe posterior neck pain.

Based on the responses from over 120,000 veterans and non-veterans to the arthritis survey of the 2000 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, veterans were twice as likely as nonveterans to report chronic joint symptoms and activity limitations.

The Law Offices of LaVan & Neidenberg, P.A. represent many veterans suffering from arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, joint swelling, and fibromyalgia.
