Detecting Kidney Failure

When an individual suddenly finds themselves disabled, it can be a cause of concern not only in dealing with their medical condition but for their financial situation. Social Security disability benefits may be available to help offset the financial burden when a person is unable to continue working.

According to new research, kidney failure may be detected by urine markers, which could not only help detect kidney failure but prevent it from becoming deadly.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a condition that is difficult to detect because of the lack of physical symptoms that accompany it. Researchers are fervently working to find ways to diagnose the disease before it becomes fatal.

In a study on urine samples, it was discovered that a certain protein was elevated in those who had kidney failure. This could help provide an early diagnosis of AKI.

These findings will be published in an upcoming issue of the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology. Researchers plan on conducting a much larger study to determine if they can go onto further clinical trials.

When an individual is diagnosed with a life-threatening condition, they not only have to face dealing with the treatment of their disease but they will also be facing financial difficulties.

If you or your loved is suffering from a severe physical or mental disability, you should contact a Social Security Disability lawyer immediately to learn about your rights and determine eligibility.
