Diet High in Fiber Could Reduce Risk of Colon Polyps

According to Health Day, a diet high in fiber could reduce the risk of colon polyps. Colon polyps are sometimes a precursor to colon cancer. If you suffer from cancer or any other severe medical condition that prevents you from working for a long period of time, then you could qualify to receive long-term disability benefits.

The risk of colon polyps was reduced by as much as 40% for those who eat brown rice at least once a week. For those who eat legumes (a combination of peas, lentils, beans) at least 3 times a week, the risk was lowered by 33%.

Dried fruit consumed at least 3 times a week lowered the risk by 26%, and cooked green vegetables eaten on a daily basis resulted in a 24% reduction.

Since there is a reduction in colon polyps, there is an obvious reduction in developing colon cancer.

When you have to undergo treatment for cancer, it oftentimes results in an inability to work, which could entitle you to receive long-term disability benefits. If you need help in receiving your benefits, such as a claim that is denied, then your next step should be to speak with a Miami long-term disability lawyer.

Long-term disability benefits may be available to those who have purchased a disability plan from a private insurer or have coverage through an employer. Unfortunately, the insurers don't make it easy for the disabled to get access to the benefits they deserve.

When a severe medical condition makes it impossible for you to work and you've been denied your long-term disability benefits, an attorney from LaVan & Neidenberg, P.A. can help you cut through the red tape and fight for your benefits, no matter where you live in the U.S! Contact a South Florida disability attorney today - 1-888-234-5758.
