The
Disabled American Veterans (DAV) national veterans’ advocacy group will be holding a mid-winter conference from February 26-29 at the Crystal Gateway Mariott in Arlington, VA. During this event, Donald L. Samuels, the National Commander of the DAV, will be addressing a special joint session of Congress to raise awareness of his program and the need for
veterans support.
The
Commander will be speaking on February 28at 2 p.m. EST and is calling for everyone who wants to stand up for veterans’ advocacy to come out and show their support at the Cannon House Office Building. Samuels wants to send the message to Congress that veterans are strong, committed, and ready to fight for the benefits and rights they have earned through their service to the nation.
Other highlights of the Mid-Winter Conference include speaking engagements from some of the top veterans’ advocacy leaders and meeting with members of the DAV to
obtain the latest news in their ongoing programs and initiatives for veterans’ benefits and support.
Grassroots movements like the DAV have already made a huge impact on Congress’ awareness of
disabled veterans’ issues. Over the past years, lobbying
to the Veterans’ Affairs Committee has helped expand efforts and create legislation to support new programs for caregiver benefits, services for female veterans, and enhancing employment opportunities.
If you are a disabled veteran who has been denied disability compensation or have not yet applied for benefits from the VA, a South Florida disability attorney from LaVan & Neidenberg is ready to help. To learn if you are entitled to certain programs and benefits
