Disabled Veterans National Foundation Helping Vets with Job Benefits

Finding employment after becoming a veteran can be difficult, especially for disabled veterans who may not be able to perform the physical demands of many jobs. The Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF) is seeking to help connect veterans with the job benefits available to them to help decrease the number of unemployed veterans.

Inspired by the VOW to Hire Heroes Act signed into law by President Obama in November 2011, the DVNF made its own vow to help connect unemployed veterans with the resources to make these hires happen.

In an announcement, on Wednesday, January 18, the DVNF revealed its plan to help disabled and underserved veterans access the benefits available to them through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and other organizations. They feel that a lack of information is preventing many employable disabled veterans from seeking adequate employment.

Many disabled veterans are unaware that VA case workers can help
them find job options, connect them to vocational and training schools, and get medical treatment, to improve disabling conditions that may prevent them from working.

Disabled veterans seeking work should contact a professional, such as a veterans’ disability attorney, to learn more about applying for veterans disability benefits. These benefits can often do more than just cover medical expenses. Many VA programs are also providing assistance with housing, employment, and finances.

If you are a disabled veteran who has been denied disability compensation or have not yet applied for benefits from the VA, a South Florida disability attorney from LaVan & Neidenberg is ready to help. To learn if you are entitled to certain programs and benefits contact our veteran’s disability rights firm today – 1-888-234-5758.
