A new program funded with stimulus money from the federal government is aiming to employ 30 disabled veterans in the Augusta, Georgia area. The "Veterans Curation Program" will be tasked with cataloging and processing U.S. artifacts.
Renowned archaeologist, Sonny Trimble, is the program director and hopes that the 14-month trial program will enable disabled veterans to learn new job skills while earning an income and once again, serving their country in a valuable way.
While the program will debut in Augusta, Georgia, there are plans to bring it to at least two other cities in the U.S., if it proves to be successful.
According to News 12 in Augusta, the Veterans Curation Program will begin in October. Disabled veterans who are interested in job opportunities with the program should contact a program director at (706)733-0188 (Ext. 7382).
