Doctor Believes His Diet Can Prevent Heart Disease

In a report from CNN Health, a doctor believes that his diet can prevent heart disease. The complications that can result from heart disease may cause an individual to be out of work for several months. This could lead to the need for long-term disability benefits.

Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn Jr., who was once a general surgeon, began to research cancer. During this time he discovered something about heart disease, that some cultures in the world didn't suffer from what is considered to be the number one killer in the United States.

Out of his research birthed the Esselstyn diet, which comes from the foods eaten by central Africans, Papua New Guinea highlanders, the Tarahumara Indians of Mexico, and rural Chinese. The diet means eating no meat, dairy, eggs, or added oils.

Dr. Esselstyn believes that heart disease is a foodborne illness and that no amount of medication or surgical procedures will combat it. He believes that preventing heart disease should be the focus and that means changing the way Americans eat.

Despite the potential health benefits of following the Esselstyn diet, most Americans would probably struggle with it. However he does provide monthly seminars at the Cleveland Clinic Wellness Institute to help.

If you have questions concerning your eligibility for long-term disability benefits, then you should consult with a Miami Gardens long-term disability lawyer.

Long-term disability benefits may be available to those who have purchased a disability plan from a private insurer or have coverage through an employer. Unfortunately, the insurers don't make it easy for the disabled to get access to the benefits they deserve.

When a severe medical condition makes it impossible for you to work and you've been denied your long-term disability benefits, an attorney from LaVan & Neidenberg, P.A. can help you to cut through the red tape and fight for your benefits, no matter where you live in the U.S!
