Doctors to Get $15 From SSA For Every Disability E-File

If you are disabled and awaiting Social Security disability benefits, you are well aware of the significant wait time for receiving benefits on an SSA disability claim. The Social Security Administration (SSA) admits that there is a growing backlog of unprocessed claims.

A new program from the SSA has been proposed to address the increase in individual claims for disability insurance benefits and Supplemental Security Income (SSI).

The SSA said it will now pay doctors $15 for each disabled applicant's records that are submitted to the SSA in electronic form
. These records are used by the SSA when determining disability claims, so it is important that they are accurately submitted in a timely fashion that also protects the privacy of each disabled individual.

While this is a positive step to addressing the growing number of unprocessed disability claims, it doesn't help the disabled individuals who have already waited months or years for their disability claim to be processed. An earlier move to electronic filing, or e-filing, might have cut down the wait times for thousands of disabled individuals who are entitled to receive Social Security disability benefits.
