Financial Assistance for VA Medical Bills

Financial assistance
is available to veterans who are currently enrolled in the VA healthcare system and are having difficulty paying their medical bills.

If you've accumulated a debt from VA copays and have experienced a decrease in income, or increase in health-care expenses for yourself or your family, you may qualify for the Hardship Plan.

Veterans who want to spread out payment of their debts can apply for the Repayment Plan which divides the debt by 12 months and typically decreases the monthly payment requirement.

A Compromise may be available to those who wish to settle the balance of a debt at a 30% reduction. Lump sum payments are required within 30 days of the negotiated acceptance of an offer to settle the debt.

Waivers may be available to those who experience a significant loss of income, medical expenses, educational or funeral expenses.
