Continuing education is an option that many veterans choose when seeking to establish a new life after their military service. A
recent scholarship program promoted by Google is helping fund those veterans seeking a career in the field of computer science.
Through a partnership with Student Veterans of America, Google is offering $
10,000 scholarships to 8 veterans that are seeking a degree in computer science or a related field. This program is part of their Google for Veterans and Families initiative, which offers online tools and resources to veterans and their families.
Interested veterans can submit their applications at StudentVeterans.org until March 15 with finalists notified by the end of April. The lucky
8 recipients will also be invited out to a scholars’ retreat at the Google headquarters this summer before the 2012-2013 academic year begins.
Continuing education is not only important for finding new employment after your military service, but can also be a great option for
disabled veterans who are unable to work at previous professions. Even if you are disabled permanently and unable to work, you can still continue learning!
Additional benefits may be available to you through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
If you are a disabled veteran who has been denied disability compensation or have not yet applied for benefits from the VA, a South Florida disability attorney from LaVan & Neidenberg is ready to help. To learn if you are entitled to certain programs and benefits
