Arsenal Inc., an American manufacturer of AK-47-style rifles, is donating $50 in proceeds from every AK-47 sale to New England Warrior. New England Warrior is a non-profit organization based in New England which raises money for the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation.
Arsenal Inc. started the promotion last month and hopes to raise $250,000 for the charity group. To meet this goal, the company must sell 5,000 firearms.
According to the manufacturer's press release, the "Buy an AK and help support the troops benefit" promotion was conceived when representatives from the company, which employs former service members and reserve personnel, was at a firearms industry trade show. There they met a fundraiser and learned of New England Warrior.
