This question comes up a lot at our law firm. You may in fact receive Social Security (SS) Disability Insurance Benefits (DIB or Title 2) and VA disability compensation at the same time. The same cannot be said for Social Supplemental Income (SSI). SSI is a welfare program and if you already receive veterans' disability benefits your SSI benefits will be offset by your VA benefits.
