Local PTSD Treatment Program Proving Effective

February 9, 2011 - Nobody goes to war and returns the same person they were when they left. It is important to have the right resources in place when those veterans return to ensure their transition back into civilian life is not only smooth, but more importantly, healthy. Those veterans will have enough to deal with mentally and emotionally, if not physically.

Although stateside, many veterans have brought the war with them due to post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).  At Ease USA is a non-profit program attempting to provide treatment to not only local veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, but their families as well. It is these smaller, local programs that may end up helping veterans more than larger programs. This may be because of the camaraderie that develops among local veterans and their families helping each other out on a more intimate level than larger treatment programs.

Modern day health care understands PTSD more than any prior generation, and that tends to alleviate some of the stigma associated with seeking help. At Ease, and other programs like it, work as very effective supplements to larger Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) run PTSD treatment programs that can help veterans and their families get back on track.
