According to an article in The Los Angeles Times, a collection of lottery winners are giving out $1 million to charities that fund care for U.S. veterans.
Recently, a group of 3 “financiers” from a Connecticut company hit the Powerball lottery, which was worth a $254 million jackpot. After taxes the winnings totaled $103.5 million.
The winnings were put into a trust, from which the donations will be distributed. According to that trust, 5 groups whose focus is helping veterans and soldiers who have recently returned from deployments will be given $200,000 each, which include:
