New National Hearing Center for Social Security Disability Opens in Midwest

A new National Hearing Center (NHC) has opened in St. Louis, with the hopes of reducing backlogged disability cases for Social Security disability applicants across the country.

This newest center is co-located with 2 other new Social Security facilities, the Midwest Training Center and the National Case Assistance Center (NCAC).

The additional center should help to reduce the tremendous backlog of Social Security disability cases, which has become a national issue as more and more Americans apply for disability benefits. In many parts of the country, disabled claimants will encounter significant waiting periods for their benefits.

The Social Security Administration will use technologically advanced electronic video to hold remote disability hearings throughout the United States in order to reduce the disability applicant backlogs across the nation.

The two cities with the greatest backlogs-Minneapolis, Minnesota and Cleveland, Ohio-will be the first to benefit from the video hearings.

In addition to this new St. Louis location there are National Hearing Centers in:

  • Chicago, Illinois;
  • Albuquerque, New Mexico;
  • Falls Church, Virginia; and
  • Baltimore, Maryland.

If you suffer from a severe mental or physical disability, you may qualify for Social Security disability benefits. Contact a Social Security disability attorney who can help you determine eligibility.

Get a FREE Social Security disability guide and avoid the common mistakes many claimants make during their application or appeal. If you or your loved is suffering from a severe physical or mental disability, contact The Law Offices of LaVan & Neidenberg, P.A. 1-888-234-5758
