Click To Call A residential drug treatment facility will open in Cocoa, Florida in 2011. The center will help Central Florida’s homeless women veterans, giving them a place to live and access to treatment for addiction. In addition, the center hopes to connect the women with other community based organizations, connecting them with the services they need to make a fresh start. The staff and attorneys at LaVan & Neidenberg applaud this effort and hope that the center will mean a new life for women veterans across Florida.

New Residential Facility in Florida Will Help Women Veterans

Everyone could use a helping hand now and then.  When the Center for Drug-Free Living opens its new residential center in Cocoa, Florida homeless women veterans and their children will have a place to call home and have their mental health needs met.  The center is slated to open its doors in 2011, and for many of central Florida's homeless female veterans the date cannot come soon enough.

As we have reported before, women veterans are just as likely to suffer mental illness and PTSD as their male counterparts.  However, when women return from war they are often not given the respect and services they deserve.  There is an ongoing and false stigma that women are shielded from war when they serve.  In reality thousands of servicewomen see as much action and violence as servicemen do.

At LaVan & Neidenberg we would like to see every veteran taken care of when they return from serving our country.  We are encouraged to see good programs like the new center in Cocoa helping veterans.  Unfortunately this is not always the case.

We see too many veterans who have been denied VA disability benefits or have been given a disability rating that is too low to cover their injuries and illnesses.  The VA is set up to help veterans, yet sometimes it fails to do so.  If you are ready to fight for and win your VA disability claim or appeal then please contact our experienced attorneys today for your free consultation.
