North Miami, Florida Soon to be Home of Florida's First Veterans Tribute Tower...

The city of North Miami prides itself for their continued gratitude of our country's armed forces. The city was chosen as the home of Florida's first Veterans Tribute Tower. The tower will serve as a reminder to honor the bravery of our country's past, present and future war heroes. North Miami's new Veterans Memorial and tribute tower is located at Griffing Park (West Dixie Highway at NE 123 Street, in North Miami). 

The entire community of North Miami is invited to kickoff the 4-day Veterans Tribute Tower celebration. It all starts on Saturday, November 8th. Below is a condensed list of the activties:

Saturday, November 8th:
10 a.m. Community Pancake Breakfast
11 a.m. 'Ingot brigade,' loading 500 pounds of bronze ingots into the 2200 degree furnace
5 p.m. The bell will be poured, cast and installed on-site

Sunday, November 9th:
10 a.m. Watch as the bell mold is broken to expose the customized bronze bell

Monday, November 10th:
10 a.m.
Tour Verdin’s Bell Foundry on Wheels and learn how a bell is made

Tuesday, November 11th:
10 a.m.
Formal Dedication of Veterans Tribute Tower 
12:30 p.m. Ringing of bell by Florida Veterans and community
