Online Webinar Scheduled to help Veterans Boost Job Search

U.S. veterans looking to enhance their chances with job applications and interviews will have the opportunity to participate in an online boot camp this month.

On Tuesday, February 28, from 2-3 p.m. EST, the Disabled Veterans National Foundation is sponsoring their Resume & Cover Letter Boot Camp
– a part of their Veterans Employment Webinar Series. Registration for the webinar is free and open to veterans, reservists, active duty, and retired members of the U.S. Military. Those who support disabled veterans such as family members and Veteran Service Officers may also attend.

The webinar will be conducted by Rod Dillehay, an employment specialist with over 20 years of experience in screening and hiring candidates for high-paying jobs. He will be offering his insight and answering questions on a variety of job search topics such as:
  • organizing your resume;
  • how to get your resume noticed digitally and personally;
  • online job search mistakes to avoid;
  • cover letter tips;
  • LinkedIn 101; and
  • how to translate your military skills into relevant resume points.
Seeking employment after military discharge is often a struggle for veterans and disabled veterans alike. With a tough job market and the stress of returning to civilian life many veterans find themselves lacking the initial skills of resume and cover letter building to get the job interviews they want. This webinar is one of many resources for disabled veterans to find employment.
