Partnership Gives Veterans Laptops For School

January 20, 2011 - An important partnership has recently been formed that benefits those veterans wanting to go to school under a program called the Veterans Workforce Development Program. Work Vessels for Veterans (WVFV) is a non-profit, purely volunteer organization. Their goal is to supply veterans returning to school with laptops to aid in their educational endeavors. AnythingIT is a leader in IT Asset Disposition (ITAD), Recovery & E-Waste handling, with both government and private sector companies.

The support ITAD will supply will push WVFV's laptop supply to a whole new level. ITAD's support has allowed WVFV to supply 200 laptops to veteran-students. By the end of this year, both companies have vowed to increase that number by at least 20%. The partnership between the two companies serves dual purposes. First, they are able to supply veterans with "technology tools." Second, in doing so, they are giving those same veterans the ability to develop valuable technological skills in order to help them transition into the private sector. More specifically, they are giving the veterans the ability to launch a career in IT.

Both companies see this as their way of giving back to veterans for the sacrifices they made for this country.
