Plantation Woman Killed in Crash With Tow Truck

A woman from Plantation, Florida was killed along Interstate 95 in Dania Beach, Florida after the car that her husband was driving crashed into the back of a crashed tow truck.

Traffic was diverted from the scene of the accident at I-95 and Griffin Road near the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, the Florida Highway Patrol report. A large metal object was found to be the cause of the entire accident. The northbound driving tow truck struck the object and had come to a stop along travel lanes when it was hit from behind by the Whyte's Toyota Camry. The driver of the tow truck Jonathan Stoops, 26, was not hurt in the crash. Wesley Whyte, the driver of the Camry, was taken to Broward General Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. His wife, Gloria Whyte, 73, died at the scene.
