There are thousands of veterans in the United States and abroad who are suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Accordingly, there are hundreds of different treatment plans for those veterans with PTSD ranging from the most traditional to the most state-of-the-art.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Department of Defense (DoD) have teamed to help veterans on the more technological side by developing a free Smartphone application (app) to help veterans manage their PTSD symptoms. The PTSD Coach app can be used by veterans, their families, and their friends to help understand the condition anytime and anywhere help is needed.

The app is designed to be a supplement to PTSD treatment and not a replacement. It is very helpful in providing basic information and linking veterans with available help. This app is only the first of a series of helpful apps to be released in the near future.
