Quality of Healthcare Receives Low Grades from Americans

When a severe medical condition results in you being unable to work, you may be eligible to receive long-term disability benefits. Disability benefits can help to offset lost wages while you are facing treatment and recovery.

In a report from Health Day, a new poll shows that Americans give the quality of their healthcare low grades. With most Americans rating the care they receive as a C, D, or F, awareness is being raised for the need of better healthcare in the United States.

This comes after a telephone survey was conducted where 55% of the respondents graded the quality of their healthcare as a C or D, and 11% gave an F grade.

Other findings in the healthcare poll included:

  • 57% would choose a hospital they are familiar with;
  • 38% would choose a hospital with a better score in quality;
  • 48% would choose a surgeon that has treated a friend or family member; and
  • 47% would choose a surgeon with high ratings of quality.

This demonstrates that many Americans choose to go the route of familiarity. Yet despite this, many are saying that the healthcare they receive is not adequate enough.

If you are coping with a debilitating disease or medical condition, chances are good that you are very familiar with the successes and failures of your own healthcare program. If you have questions concerning your eligibility for disability benefits, you should immediately consult with a Miami Beach long-term disability attorney.

Long-term disability benefits may be available to those who have purchased a disability plan from a private insurer or have coverage through an employer. Unfortunately, the insurers don't make it easy for the disabled to get access to the benefits they deserve. When a severe medical condition makes it impossible for you to work and you've been denied your long-term disability benefits, an attorney from LaVan & Neidenberg, P.A. can help you to cut through the red tape and fight for your benefits, no matter where you live in the U.S!
