Regular Black Tea Consumption May Lower Blood Pressure

According to the Los Angeles Times, regular black tea consumption may help to lower blood pressure. If you’re out of work due to a severe heart condition, long-term disability benefits may be available to help offset your lost earnings.

A new study indicates that those who drink 3 cups of black tea daily, over a period of several months, can reduce their blood pressure. It was tested on men and women between the ages of 35 and 75 with systolic blood pressure readings that ranged from 115 to 150.

The first group was given a placebo, while the second group consumed black tea. Compared to the group with the placebo, those who consumed tea 3 times a day experienced a drop of 2 to 3 points over a 6 month period. Spreading this over, it shows a 10% drop, along with a 7% to 10% drop in the risk of developing a cardiovascular disease.

The black tea contains polyphenols, which are antioxidants found in some types of food such as cranberries, cherries and broccoli. Antioxidants are linked to a reduction in cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and prevention of cell damage.

When you have questions or concerns regarding your right to receive long-term disability benefits, it may be in your best interest to seek legal counsel. Get help from a Palm Beach County disability attorney to learn if you’re eligible and what you can do if your claim was denied.

Long-term disability benefits may be available to those who have purchased a disability plan from a private insurer or have coverage through an employer. Unfortunately, the insurers don’t make it easy for the disabled to get access to the benefits they deserve.
