The availability of long-term disability benefits will depend on the severity of your medical condition, how long you are expected to be out of work and other factors. A Miami long-term disability attorney can help determine if you qualify for disability benefits.
According to a report from the
Doctor's Lounge,
the risk of fractures has been linked to the use of some popular heartburn medicines. Long-term use of medicines such as Nexium, Prevacid and Prilosec were found in a study to have a 29% increased risk of fractures.
Additionally, the study found
these same heartburn medicines to increase the risk of vertebral fractures by 54% and hip fractures by 31%.
However other types of heartburn drugs, known as H2 blockers, were not found to increase the risk of fractures. This includes brands such as Pepcid and Zantac. This could be due to the fact that H2 blockers aren't as powerful.
The findings of this new study should cause doctors to carefully choose what type of heartburn medication may be safe and beneficial to a patient.
