Ryan’s Project Helps Injured Marines Attend The Marine Corps Ball

Ryan's Project was designed to help returning veterans transition to life at home. Douglas Robinson, Marine Ryan Robinson's father, created the group. Their mission is to help injured and disabled Marines go to the Marine Corps Ball. The ball is important to Marines because it celebrates the formation of the Corps.

No matter where in the world Marines are stationed, they celebrate the Corps birthday. Not every station holds events such as the Marine Corps Ball, but the birthday is acknowledged in some way with USMC dedication. It is not difficult to see how important the day is to Marines.

Ryan Robinson died as a result of a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Ryan always wanted the injured Marines in military hospitals to be able to attend the Marine Corps Ball to show them they had not been forgotten. Ryan's Project supplies these Marines with the money necessary to attend the Ball.

This is the first year the project will fund trips to the Ball. All expenses are paid for the evening, which includes a limousine, an escort, and full dress blues. Eventually, the project hopes to become a nationwide program.
