Same Day Discharge for Stenting Procedures Found to Be Safe

According to a report from Health, same day discharge for stenting procedures is found to be safe. When you have been diagnosed with a serious heart condition that will require invasive surgery or other treatment that results in you being unable to work for a long period of time, then long-term disability benefits may be available.

Stenting procedures are done in order to open up clogged arteries; however, most patients require a hospital stay of 1 or 2 days.
This increases the cost of care.

New research shows that it may not be necessary to stay overnight after a stenting procedure. It was found that discharging patients the same day of the procedure didn't increase the risk of complications. In fact, most patients fared the same no matter if they were released the same day or spent a couple of days in the hospital.

With so many advancements being made and the chance of suffering serious complications being at a low risk, the decision to send a patient home after undergoing a stenting procedure may be okay. On the other hand, this research is new and there may be other factors that also need to be considered.

You should speak with a Ft. Lauderdale long-term disability lawyer if you have questions concerning eligibility or appealing a claim for disability benefits that has been denied.

Long-term disability benefits may be available to those who have purchased a disability plan from a private insurer or have coverage through an employer. Unfortunately, the insurers don't make it easy for the disabled to get access to the benefits they deserve.
