Scientists Downplay Links Made Between Biomarkers and Certain Diseases

After the diagnosis of a severe medical condition, you may be facing treatment and recovery that will require missed time from work. During this, you may be able to receive long-term disability benefits.

In a report from the Doctor's Lounge, scientists are downplaying some of the links made between biomarkers and certain diseases.
This is in response to studies done in the past couple of decades, which have indicated a strong role that biomarkers may play in some types of medical conditions.

According to new research, after analyzing 35 studies, it was found that less than half of those citing biomarkers as being linked to diseases were actually found to be in later follow-up trials.

It was discovered that in these studies linking biomarkers and certain diseases, just 20% of them actually showed there was a 35% or greater risk for the condition.

The main message is that a single study alone cannot determine the possible link to acquiring any specific type of disease.
There needs to be larger studies done subsequently.

If you have questions concerning your eligibility for long-term disability benefits, then your next step should be to speak with a Georgia long-term disability attorney. An attorney can also help if you have been denied disability benefits.

Long-term disability benefits may be available to those who have purchased a disability plan from a private insurer or have coverage through an employer. Unfortunately, the insurers don't make it easy for the disabled to get access to the benefits they deserve. When a severe medical condition makes it impossible for you to work and you've been denied your long-term disability benefits, an attorney from LaVan & Neidenberg, P.A. can help you to cut through the red tape and fight for your benefits, no matter where you live in the U.S!
