Standing Tall For Veterans Improving Lives

February 18, 2011 - Many local organizations have been formed to fill in the gaps the VA programs leave when it comes to helping veterans and their families. Standing Tall For Veterans is such an organization and in the 2 years it has existed, it has raised over $10,000 in donations and goods. Their goal is to do as much as possible to improve the lives of veterans and their families. It has done all this with just 4 people.

Standing Tall For Veterans is a nonprofit certified and registered corporation and is able to draw much needed help from volunteers. It is the belief and pride in the cause that draws them in and makes them want to be a part of the organization. Many volunteers, therefore, showed up when Standing Tall For Veterans announced they would be selling cards for $10 entitling the cardholder to receive discounts at local businesses.

The organization has been extremely active in its short existence. It has founded multiple programs, with the biggest one being Operation Thanks To You. That program provides money to the families of deployed and recently returned soldiers. Their other programs range from raising money to send phone cards overseas to funding a scholarship for local ROTC students.

Standing Tall has the support it does because of its good work and ability to help those in need. Helping veterans and their families is the type of work that is unfortunately necessary but rewarding at the same time.
