Stem Cells Possible Ability to Reverse Heart Damage

CNN Health reports that stem cells may be able to reverse heart damage. If you’re suffering from a severe cardiovascular condition that has left you disabled, then you may be eligible to receive long-term disability benefits.

This past summer the first patient ever underwent a procedure where he was infused with stem cells that were taken from his own heart. He had suffered a massive heart attack a month prior, which left 30% of his heart damaged.

Then 3 weeks later another patient in different state underwent the same medical procedure, whose heart attack years earlier left him with advanced heart failure. Both patients experienced a reversal in heart damage and no serious side effects.

Since then a few other patients have also gone through stem cell infusion and experienced improvement in heart function. This has included not only scar tissue shrinking but growth of new tissue.

Although the results of this small study have demonstrated hope, larger studies will need to be conducted before any type of stem cell therapy can be approved.

Whether a heart attack, heart failure, or any other cardiovascular condition has impacted your ability to work for an extended period of time, you may qualify to receive long-term disability benefits. You should speak with a
Miami Gardens disability lawyer to learn what options are available.

Long-term disability benefits may be available to those who have purchased a disability plan from a private insurer or have coverage through an employer. Unfortunately, the insurers don’t make it easy for the disabled to get access to the benefits they deserve.

When a severe medical condition makes it impossible for you to work and you’ve been denied your long-term disability benefits, an attorney from LaVan & Neidenberg, P.A. can help you cut through the red tape and fight for your benefits, no matter where you live in the U.S!
