Treating Chronic Lung Disease

Chronic lung disease can completely change an individual's quality of life. Social Security disability benefits may be available if you are unable to work because of an illness such as chronic lung disease. Understandably, many individuals are concerned with how much they can expect to receive in disability benefits and if it will be enough to cover their needs, which is where legal counsel can help.

While treating chronic lung disease can be difficult, a study shows that a drug used to treat asthma may help patients with breathing difficulties.
The drug, Regadenoson, has been shown to be safe and effective in helping those suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

The study included 467 patients diagnosed with COPD who received a single injection and were monitored for 2 hours afterwards. While some patients did experience side effects, overall, this method was found to be safe.

The results of this study will be presented, with the hope that patients in the future who suffer from breathing difficulties associated with chronic lung disease may be helped.

If you have been diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or any other severe medical condition, with a disability expected to last beyond a year, you may qualify for Social Security disability benefits. An experienced Social Security disability attorney can help determine eligibility.
