Twitter Helps Track Important Public Health Trends

You may qualify to receive long-term disability benefits if you've been diagnosed with a severe medical condition and you're not able to work for a long period of time.

Disabled World
reports that Twitter may be helpful in tracking important public health trends. With social media on the rise, more and more people are utilizing it for a variety of reasons, including sharing health information.

According to a couple of scientists at John Hopkins University, they tested the usefulness of tracking health trends by using software to filter out 1.5 million tweets, relating to health, that were sent out through May 2009 and October 2010.

What they found were interesting patterns in topics such as the flu, insomnia, cancer, allergies, depression, obesity, and other ailments. They discovered useful information and tips being shared and discovered some misuse of medications.

They were also able to track trends by place and time
when it comes to seasonal health problems like flu and allergies. They discovered which parts of the country they would peak in and which states saw an earlier start to them.

If you have questions concerning eligibility for disability benefits, then your next call should be to a Georgia long-term disability attorney. An attorney can also assist you with the complicated paperwork and collection of evidence you'll need to prove your disability.

Long-term disability benefits may be available to those who have purchased a disability plan from a private insurer or have coverage through an employer. Unfortunately, the insurers don't make it easy for the disabled to get access to the benefits they deserve.

When a severe medical condition makes it impossible for you to work and you've been denied your long-term disability benefits, an attorney from LaVan & Neidenberg, P.A. can help you cut through the red tape and fight for your benefits, no matter where you live in the U.S! Contact a South Florida disability attorney today - 1-888-234-5758.
