U.S. Veterans Exposed to Agent Orange May be Subjected to Prostate Cancer

According to a release on VVA.com, any veteran with any exposure to Agent Orange should absolutely ensure they are screened for prostate cancer, due to the serious complications and risks associated with it.

There is a unique and unsettling connection between Agent Orange and prostate cancer. Those veterans with Agent Orange exposure develop prostate cancer at least twice as much as those veterans without the exposure. Further, the prostate cancer that does develop in those veterans with exposure is more likely to reoccur, and when it does it is more likely to be more aggressive.

There is no way to determine how many veterans were exposed to Agent Orange while in service in Southeast Asia. Regardless, prostate cancer is a service-related disease and has been on the VA’s presumptive disease list since 1996, when a connection between the 2 was first discovered
