August 13, 2010 - The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) gave the go-ahead-nod to use the drug ecstasy (MDMA) in combination with psychotherapy to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). If the trial treatment works, it could be a step towards using MDMA as a new method to treat veterans returning from the current wars.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Denver medical clinic is the most likely location for the trials to take place. The clinic has had much success in treating military personnel suffering from PTSD who have not responded by other, more traditional methods such as:
Preliminary results have been very promising. Out of a group of 12 tests subjects, 10 responded very positively to the treatment. The most effective treatment seemed to be a combination of psychotherapy with MDMA. A placebo group attended the same amount of psychotherapy sessions but did not take the MDMA and showed only a 25% improvement.
The FDA approving a treatment like this shows their determination to progress in treating PTSD. Many people suffer severe traumas which results in PTSD, and never get treatment. Other people attempt treatment and never get relief from the debilitating symptoms, which include:
It is very possible coupling MDMA with psychotherapy could be a major breakthrough for those people resilient to traditional therapies. Should it prove effective in trials it will hopefully be approved for greater use in the veteran community.

Lets just say all of this is true, and supported with News Reports by ABC News, CBS News, NBC News, and Official FBI investigations.
