The Department of Veterans Affairs recently released a list of nine new presumptive diseases. In order to qualify for veterans' disability for one of the newly listed diseases a service woman or man must prove that they did not have the disease before they served in Afghanistan or Southwest Asia. The new diseases include:
The new regulation will not be put into effect until 60 days after its announcement. This waiting period allows comments to be made about the recommended additions.
