Veterans Tracking their Medical Records through VA Website

Have you heard about My HealtheVet?

This website is part of the Department of Veterans Affairs’ campaign to help veterans connect with their department and control their veterans’ disability benefits and VA health care. It helps veterans and their families gain access to their medical benefits and understand more about their health issues.

Similar to WebMD and other online health resources, My HealtheVet is tailored specifically to disabled veterans and military families. It allows military personnel and authorized family members to access important information such as:
  • medical records;
  • insurance information;
  • military health history;
  • prescriptions obtained through the VA;
  • appointments made at VA facilities;
  • lab reports from VA testing centers; and
  • primary care provider details.
The system also allows for entering of personal records and care obtained outside of the VA medical system. This can help veterans, who are receiving VA health care, better manage the treatment they are getting for their conditions and hopefully improve their quality of life.

Register for My HealtheVet by completing the one-time In Person Authorization.
Once this is completed, you will have access to your VA medical records and treatment history to make it easier to manage your health and improve living with a disability.
