Virus May Be Linked to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

According to the Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome Association of America, about 1 million people in the United States suffer from chronic fatigue syndrome. This condition is often debilitating as sufferers can endure months of exhaustion and find themselves unable to participate in normal daily activities. Long-term disability benefits can help sufferers who are undergoing treatment.

Researchers have now found that a virus may be linked to chronic fatigue syndrome. The murine leukemia virus (MLV) was found to exist in 86.5% patients with this disease.

However, researchers aren't clear if the virus is the cause. There is the possibility that the virus is really an underlying condition for something else or that the virus alters something in the immune system, making an individual susceptible to the disease.

Chronic fatigue syndrome doesn't just result in fatigue. Other symptoms of this condition include:

  • headaches;
  • muscle and joint pain;
  • sore throat; and
  • enlarged lymph nodes.

Adding to that, many sufferers have to cope with the stigma attached to chronic fatigue syndrome by those who do not believe it is a real condition.

If you have been diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome or any other severe physical condition that prevents you from working, you may qualify for long-term disability benefits. Contact a long-term disability attorney who can help determine eligibility.

Iye was dx.chronic fatigue a few and chronic low back pain i worked and lived through it but one day i became incredibly sick i fell to the ground coming back from my daily 3mile walk.i felt more tired than usual and was hurting alot worse but i waited several months before i went to docotor he did a slava test on me which indicated epstein barr very high level 2300, i was so weak and disoreintated from lack of sleep due to the missery of pain he suggessted that i stop working for a while and rest, well i couldn't do that i have two sons in school i ultimatleu started seaking ansers my dad died at 49,uncle at 52.i am 44. i started swelling doctor put me on fluied med,stated complaining of my joints hurting so bad i am constantly falling, and feeling dizzi comes from nowhere. was falling in public places, mu knees would just become like jello and down i would go,went to ra he checks he says no swelling to be concerned about and yhr test he ran on me indicated a very low d level,told me take a supplement everyday and that was that for him, He did dx.me with fibromyalgia i have 18 out of 18 pressure pointts could actually come up with more.i did have to cave in and take sick time out i could go another second, ic couldnt sleep but at least i was resting, the longer i would lay the stiffer i became i lost the feeeling my fingers they were constantly numb and burning,went to have a neur study which indicated mild carpel tunel though when i was in his office and he stuck the needle down my thumb i didn't flinch, hr states wow you must have a severe case of it but i was that numb i didn't feel it.test results come back mild.crazy.blood work up and down neve the same;since then i have devolped high blood pressue hypoyhtoidism and severe depression cause noone seems to give a crap about how bad i feel even if the test were not proving it so to say,i filled for disablity and was turned down all 3 times because of my age and level of education.i have been suffering for almost 3yrs.i also have 3 herniated disc and two buldging disc in my back.i keep a headache all the time we are facing finacial ruin, two teenagers two businesses and a new house 2yrs before i got so bad i had to stop,i couldn't concentrate and i was financial advisor insurance sales person, and the secretary to my husbands second business, he has a regular job and then we had a company on the outside which we lost it too. i was sending him to jobs at the wrong places, taking down incorrect information etc; i just was unable to do anything right. we are two years running on one income and used up all of our savings and now credit cards and i have not made any progress in the right direction since the day i fell but was still turend down, even though i had three doctors supporting me.The judge used the social security doctors as his prime source of information, even though they had never met me they sure had an opinion abuot me and that was that i was able to do something low stess inviroment with alot of flexiblity,the judge never asked me one question, i got to answer my lawyers questions that were yes and no but not once was i offered a chance to speak directly with the judge so that i could tell me side of the story we were pressed for time because of these goons that work for ss had such an opion about my case that them explaining to the judge how it was no serious in medical terms though my treating doctors thought so because they supported me and complied with all the paperwork etc..i did not get a fair trial, seems like not much is being fair for me right now i am not a winer but sure am gonna become a screamer soon, the frustration of this non exsistent non dibilatating disease has take my life from me, because of this we may have to go bankrupt now who in there right mind dreams of doing something that stupid in there 40s. i hold so much quilt that it takes my breath away, if we lose everything we have just because some to stupid to understand judge then it is hard to tell what kind of hell i can legally raise but as long as i can still talk then you bet the world will knowl. these judges need to get a case of chronic fatigue themselves or fibr,htn,djd,arthritis,scolosis,etc maybe because they don't look sick they could at least feel the unthinkable pain that is assosiated with this no matter how good you look it does not mean we are not suffering silentley inside and then it attacks the mental aspect of it, it was once said that it was all in our head, the truth is after being attacked by pain no man or woman should have to experience it goes to your head.thanks lisa sowards t molllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
