Young Adults with Hypertension at Risk for Heart-Related Death

According to a report from Internal Medicine News, young adults with hypertension are at risk of heart-related death later on. Long-term disability benefits could be available if you were diagnosed with a severe medical condition that will require months of treatment and recovery.

Results from the Harvard Alumni Health study indicate that after analyzing data on more than 18,000 young adult men, those with high blood pressure had a higher risk of death from cardiovascular and coronary heart disease in later life.

To the surprise of the researchers however, there was no indication that the risk of stroke-related death was increased for young adults, despite high blood pressure being a common factor. On the other hand, for those who are middle-aged, the risk was more than doubled.

The results of this study seem to suggest that treatment strategies for combating high blood pressure in young adults need to be looked at. Yet the safety and effects of early intervention has yet to be tested.

If a severe health problem is keeping you from work and your ability to function is seriously impaired, you could be entitled to receive long-term disability benefits. If your claim has been denied or you have questions concerning eligibility, you should speak to a Broward County disability attorney as soon as possible.

Long-term disability benefits may be available to those who have purchased a disability plan from a private insurer or have coverage through an employer. Unfortunately, the insurers don’t make it easy for the disabled to get access to the benefits they deserve.

When a severe medical condition makes it impossible for you to work and you’ve been denied your long-term disability benefits, an attorney from LaVan & Neidenberg, P.A. can help you cut through the red tape and fight for your benefits, no matter where you live in the U.S! Contact a Broward County disability attorney today – 1-888-234-5758.
