I can't afford the medication my doctor says I need to take for my condition. What should I do?

A:

Financial hardship is a grim reality for many of our clients. Sometimes medication becomes less of a priority when you can hardly afford to pay your rent, utility bills, or buy food. The staff at the Law Offices of LaVan & Neidenberg understands that while it may be difficult to stay on top of your prescribed medications - whether it's because you can't afford to buy them or you don't like the way they make you feel - you should try your hardest to stay compliant with your doctor's orders.

If you fail to follow your treating physicians' orders it may affect how your impairments are viewed by an administrative law judge (ALJ) hearing your disability case.
