The record shows that the veteran was relieved from the 275th Supply Company on May 15, 1981 (R1080), applied for Discharge from the Army according to a Dept. of the Army letter dated 03/21/85 (R. 1093), but then also served in Fort Gordon, Georgia from July 12, 1986 to July 26, 1986; He had reenlisted into the US Army Reserve on October 18, 1985 (R. 1067-1072), and on November 18, 1985 was assigned to the ASAR Control Group Annual Training (R. 1081). According to the Record of Assignments, he was on duty in St. Louis, Missouri in May 1985 and in 1987 (R. 1098). He received Orders to serve from July 25, 1985 to July 12, 1986 at Ft. Gordon, Georgia (R. 1077). On March 1, 1987 he was assigned to the USAR Control Group, St. Louis, MO. (R. 1130).
On August 1, 1987 his grade was listed as "PV2" (R. 1056). On October 23, 1987 he reenlisted in the US Army Reserve (R. 1131), and on June 29, 1988 was reassigned to Fort Lee, Virginia (R. 1082). In May 1989 he was reassigned to St. Louis, Missouri. (R. 1083). In August 1989 he was reassigned to Fort Pickett, Virginia (R. 1085). On February 1, 1990 he was ordered to duty for 15 days (R. 1155). On August 31, 1990 he was ordered to report for a period of active duty for 5 days beginning September 10, 1990. On September 13, 1990 he was confined to 3 days bed rest (R. 1061).
On October 1, 1990 a sick certificate was completed stating that he needed to be off active duty due to bed rest for neck/back pain (R. 1062). On October 25, 1990, William C. McGee, Jr., Personnel Actions Sergeant, completed a form stating that the veteran had missed scheduled drill assemblies for the months of September and October 1990) (R. 1086). In 1990 the veteran had unexcused absences from training on Nov. 3-4, 1990; on Dec. 1-2, 1990; and on Jan. 12-13, 1991 (R. 1126).
