The Center for Drug-Free Living

The Center for Drug-Free Living offers community based substance abuse treatment and prevention services that serve the residents of Central Florida regardless of, "age, sex, race, creed or ability to pay." The CFDFL has been operating in Florida for over 35 years and is licensed by the Florida Department of Children and Families. They serve women and their families, men, youth and will now begin serving homeless veterans, both male and female.

Please use this page as a basic guide to the services that the Center for Drug-free Living offers. Click on any underlined word or phrase to visit the CFDFL website.

  • Services- Services offered include detoxification, residential programs, outpatient treatment and community education.
  • Getting Help- Both self-referrals and referrals made by hospitals, friends and family members, employers and more are accepted. Though the center accepts many types of insurance they do offer a sliding scale for those without insurance. The length and type of treatment is dependent on the client's individual needs. An assessment is available to help you determine the level of care that would best benefit you or a family member.
  • Online Screening- If you would like to take an online screening as an initial assessment you can do so, free of charge, by clicking here. Two assessments are available, one for drug use and one for alcohol.
  • FAQs- This section covers popular topics such as: What is the Marchman Act? What is the cost of evaluation? How can I help someone else who has a drug problem?
  • Resources- This page contains a long list of resources, both local and nationwide. Groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous, East Bay Community Recovery and Narcotics Anonymous are listed here.

We hope that the information provided on this page will help you or a family member get help with a drug addiction. The prospect of a women's home for homeless female veterans is especially encouraging. The staff and attorneys at LaVan & Neidenberg are glad to see that special attention is being paid to women who struggle after returning from war.
