First appeals are easily requested through the state DDS office. Again, a two-person team will evaluate your medical evidence, but they will be different from your initial evaluators so that their opinions are unbiased. This process won't require your interaction, other than perhaps another consultative examination by a third-party medical professional.

A successive denial, however, can be taken up with the regional Office of Disability Adjudication and Review (ODAR). They will schedule a hearing at the ODAR office closest to you.
