When questioned by his attorney, he said that in the job as assistant manager at Advanced Auto Parts he had to lift up to 65 pounds (T256). Before that he worked at CKS Packaging operating a forklift and loading jugs that weighed about 20 pounds (T257-258). He said he left that because his medications made him sleepy and his knees and wrists would swell up (T258). Prior to that he did cooking and had to lift 30-40 pounds (T258).
He testified that he left the job as Assistant Manager at the auto parts store because his ankles and wrists would swell up and he had pain in the wrist. That happens 2-3 times a month, but never goes away, it swells up (T259). His knees and ankles also swell up (T260). When that happens he cannot use his right hand, can do ‘pretty much nothing' with his right hand (T260). He testified that he has the pain every month (T261). He has pain 15 days a month (T261). On those days he cannot walk (T262). He has to elevate his ankle on those days; he has to put his foot in a foot massager on those days to keep the pain down (T262_. He stated that he used crutches and they were prescribed (T262). He testified that his back hurts all the time, even if he sits 2-3 hours, not at one time, it hurts (T262-263). He testified that he could stand for about 25 minutes and then his back starts hurting (T263). He has diabetes and his eyes get blurry, sometimes he can hear, sometimes he cannot (T263).
He testified that he takes 9 medications for diabetes and for his blood pressure. (T264). He said that he gets headaches and has problems reading due to blurriness in the eyes (T264-265). He said his doctors told him that when his ankles swell he should lay down and place his ankle in the air (T265). He testified that he also suffered from hemorrhoids (T265). No experts testified at the Hearing.
