Epilepsy Foundation of Florida

The Epilepsy Foundation or Florida has been working to advocate for people suffering from the seizure disorder. The Florida Foundation is part of the National Epilepsy Foundation. Locations in Florida include Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Jacksonville and Gainesville.

• Florida Services- Local services and organizations listed here include Epilepsy services of West Central Florida in Tampa, Epilepsy services of Northwest Florida in Pensacola and Suncoast Epilepsy Association, Inc. in Kenneth City.
• Parent Center- A sizable list of resources for parents of epileptic children is available here. Topics include living with epilepsy, just diagnosed and treatment options.
• Support Group- Nineteen regional support groups are listed here. The groups include both English and Spanish speaking groups. Florida groups are located in Miami, Palm Beach, Alachua, Marion and Duval County.
• Advocacy Efforts- The Epilepsy Foundation of Florida works to advocate for both civilian and veteran populations. In 2010 the Foundation's priorities are to adequately fund epilepsy programs and services and monitor receipts to the Seat Belt trust fund.
• News- Find current information on events and epilepsy research in Florida. Also available is an epilepsy fact sheet and office contacts.
