Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)
HIV is a disease that slowly destroys a person's immune system. Consequently making it difficult for the body to fight infections. Given that infections can occur throughout the body, HIV can manifest itself through a number of illnesses. HIV-specific symptoms include:
- Diarrhea
- Fatigue
- Fever
- Recurring vaginal yeast infections
- Headaches
- Mouth sores
- Muscular stiffness or aches
- A variety of skin rashes
- Sore throat and swollen lymph glands
Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS)
AIDS is the last and most serious stage of the HIV disease. During this phase of the disease, the person's immune system is severely damaged.
