  • Heart Attack
  • A heart attack occurs when the heart muscle in injured. This injury occurs when the heart loses its blood supply. Usually, a blood clot will block a coronary artery, interrupting the flow of blood to the heart and damaging or destroying a part of the heart muscle.
  • Aneurysm
  • When a blood vessel (artery or vein) wall becomes weak or bulges an aneurysm occurs. Aneurysms usually get bigger over time and may rupture, causing life-threatening bleeding. Though an aneurysm can occur anywhere in the body they are most common sites are the abdominal aorta and arteries at the base of the brain.
  • Congenital Heart Disease
  • This disease is due to an abnormal heart development before birth. While some defects heal over time, some require lifelong treatment.
  • Stroke
  • A stroke happens when a blood clot stops or slows the flow of blood through an artery or a blood vessel. When this happens blood and oxygen supplies to the brain are cut off, causing brains cells to die and brain damage to set it.
  • Vascular Heart Disease

  • Occurs when your heart is not pumping blood as well as it should. The body does not receive the blood and thereby oxygen it needs.
  • High Blood Pressure
  • When the pressure in your arteries is consistently above normal high blood pressure or hypertension is to blame. High blood pressure can lead to hardened arteries, heart failure, stroke or heart attacks.
  • Cardiomyopathy
  • Cardiomyopathy occurs when the heart muscle becomes inflamed and doesn't work properly. Primary cardiomyopathy is caused by a specific cause such as heart valve disease or high blood pressure.
  • Arrhythmias
  • An arrhythmia occurs when the heart rate (pulse) beats too fast, too slow or irregularly. It occurs when the electrical signal to the heart are not preformed in a coordinated fashion.
  • Coronary Artery Disease
  • This set of diseases affect the arteries that supply the heart muscle with blood. Also known as CAD, it is the #1 cause of heart attacks. The most common cause of this disease is a preventable type of vascular disease, atherosclerosis.
