Florida's Workforce Alliance has been given top honors. The program was awarded first place in the 2009 Veteran Incentive Award Program by the Agency for Workforce Innovation. Workforce Alliance was up against every Florida workforce region of similar size.
Workforce Alliance has helped thousands of veterans throughout the state. Veterans in search of a job have found help through the Alliances' three career centers. In addition their outreach programs and veterans' advocates help veterans not only find a job but transition into the civilian world.
Kathryn Schmidt is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Workforce Alliance. She is proud to be part of the Workforce Alliance team and plans on continuing to serve the veterans in her county.
"We have long recognized the important role and far-reaching efforts of our Career Centers in serving the needs of veterans in ours County, and are pleased that the state of Florida now joins us in this recognition. I would like to congratulate the numerous Workforce Alliance staff members who contributed to the earning of this distinctive award."
Among these staff members the Local Veterans' Employment Representatives and Disabled Veterans' Outreach Program Specialists are especially dedicated to Florida's veterans. These advocates for veterans' rights work with local businesses to create increased job opportunities for veterans. In addition they provide outreach and specialized services to veterans with disabilities.
