Tim Godbee is the president and founder of the Homeless Veterans Foundation Inc. In order to help raise money for the cause and to highlight the importance of honoring veterans Godbee has organized the first ever Southern Vets Festival. Godbee wants to ensure that the public understands the sacrifices that veterans make every day in the name of their country. Along with veterans, police, fire and emergency personnel will be honored.
Featured at the festival will be speakers such as state Rep. Barry Loudermilk and Barbara Massey Reece. Attendees will also get to listen to live music from The Jeremy Graham Band, 2009 USO Tour participants, the Georgia Blues Brothers and more. Various vendors will also be participating in the event.
The festival will be located at 500 S. Main St. in Adairsville, Georgia. Tickets for the event are $6 per person and all proceeds will go to the Homeless Veterans Foundation Inc.
The veterans' disability attorneys at LaVan & Neidenberg are glad to see more attention being brought to the struggles that vets face when they return from war. We hope that this event and others like it continue to help veterans in need.
